After some matches where things really didn't go the elves' way, Valis' rats got to experience what it is like to play elves who are on the roll. The Loyalty mostly managed their play this day. One is uncertain as to why luck seems to bottle up this way, but it suddenly got unstuck today. Nuffle smiled upon the elves who levelled three elves on their own, and the MVP levelled another. For once even the winnings were good. The only thing that was like normal, was how the elves - after injuring the niggled gutter one the first block - couldn't hurt a fly. But neither could the rats, mostly. All in all, a seriously good day for the elves. 6 to 2 was the score in the end.

Ghouls Aloud (Penkoon) 1 v 0 The new knights (Jakala)
A victory for the Ghouls! Not entirely sure how that happened. They managed to snatch a victory from the jaws of, er, a draw. Or rather Nuffle cock-slapped the Knights down, just as the tieing TD looked inevitable. No one shall kiss their sisters tonight!
Both offenses had a hard time of it. The Knights started off receiving the ball, made some progress down the field before coughing up the pigskin. The ghouls scooped it up and ploughed forwards, removing various knights to the KO-bin as they went, until there were just not enough left to prevent the score.
Sadly, with a few Knights waking back up and the Ghouls not coping very well with the heat, the second half started 9 aside. Ghouls Aloud received the ball but never managed to get it out of their own half. Trying to protect the ball they failed to make any inroads past the Knights and gradually lost players, some via injury and some via crowdsurfing. The ball became less and less protected, until eventually the Knights forced it free and made a clean break with it. With some lucky dodging, Ghouls Aloud managed a last desperate 1 die plus reroll block on the carrier, but failed to do anything useful with it. This left the Knights with a 3+ dodge with skill-reroll to equalise, but a cheeky pre-score block double-skulled and it all fell apart.
Noel Ghoulager will be missing the next game, but as both wolves will be making their much welcome return that feels a reasonable cost. Plus, I've now scored with a flesh golem in two of my last three games - who needs ghouls anyway!

The vamp-off was most likely a record break of bad luck. Like really, not just what you feel once in a while bad, but the worst game everish for Smiffums glittery vampires. Admittedly they were a beaten up crew from the start with only 2 vampires facing of against my 4, but this was beyond anything that would have been reasonable to expect.
They started with a chainsaw blitz, but ended up hitting the goblin wielder (didnt even pass its own armor. Props probably.) After that thralls kept getting sent of injured. About two per turn, the first few turns. And scores kept coming. 1,2,3,4 in the first half and another two in the second.
6-0. Just wow.

Tits 1 - 0 Dodgers
Sybaris’ Amazon’s had all the skills to stop the lizards wreaking their usual havoc and to pin them in place on the line of scrimmage. This resulted in a frustrating first half offensive drive for the Dodgers, unable to organise an effective push, The first half ended with a skink failing to hold on to a handoff in the endzone.
The second half started with a blitz allowing a saurus to put a tackle zone on the Amazon expecting to receive the kick off. She managed to collect the ball during the resultant confusion and set up a light defensive screen. Whilst this might have been effective against scaly monsters, it wasn’t. Much use against a lightning bolt. The lightening bolt wasn’t much use when faced with the towering stupidity of the lizard coach, who after blitzing the last remnant of defensive screen decided to reposition the clumsy reptile to better mark the ball, forgetting it was standing in the tackle zone of the blitzed Amazon. (I think the dice roll was double dodgeable POW, my head interpreted this as double POW forgetting all Amazons have dodge). What should have been a phenomenal advantage for the lizards was now a disaster as the whole team was left out of position watching the women stream past them in numbers and score the inevitable touchdown.
From the kick off, a valiant attempt at an equaliser failed on a touch line GFI in turn 16.
Too many dice rolled with poor odds of success against a strong player.

Let's...… PLAY BALL!! To address your query regarding the High TV of Ghouls Aloud, we had a cap on the TV of existing teams. Ghouls Aloud were under that cap and The Knights of Hell were over the cap. There were quite a few disappointed coaches, but I didn't want those with fresh 1000TV teams coming up against 2000TV teams in the first game.

Watching it through again, it was still a surprise that I somehow won it!

Fairies with Boots (Beefburger) v Caimen Excise Dodgers (nearly) Nearly and I played a one all draw, which on balance i feel i stole a bit. I have hated and always will hate playing lizards as any elves, the combination of strong saurus and fast skinks is hard to beat Nearly scored a good TD in the first half but i was very lucky to be able to put a bit of pressure on and force him to score early ish. My drive was marred by my tree trying to dodge into two tackle zones (a combination of shite UI and inattention from me) so didn't really go anywhere. My eventual 2nd half TD, complictaed by 2 deaths and a BH, involved a one dice block, 2 dodges with dodge, a pick up, a short pass and a catch with only a team RR. Phew! My luck then held for the last couple of turns and i kept the lizards penned around the halfway line. GG matey, best of luck with the rest of your games. Cheers Beef
Edit - one thing i always bemoaned when i used to play back in the day was that i never got any +st on my main league teams. I got +mv and loads of +ag but no +st. Well i levelled 3 players in the game v the lizards and obvioulsy inspired by the saurus 2 of the players are now st 4 Bounty ahoy everybody! +STR elves galore! Fill yer boots!!!!!! Edit: oh and if it makes you feel better I'm getting at least one, maybe two, on average 'shit UI' misclick dodge into zones or random fuck-ups per game. Against Valis I had him on the ropes, and then one misclick dodge later and it all fell apart. Literally everything fell apart in one turn. Fucking unbelievable. Jammy cunt!

Hive of Scum & Villainy 3 v 0 30g of Pall Mall pls boss
Seems as though all the players got together and came to a gentlemans agreements for everybody to wear nice soft mittens for this match....and for the ref to wear a blindfold.
The start of the match was a rather low key affair, with just a bit of pushing and shoving for awhile. Despite this the norsemen seemed somewhat dazed & confused, seemingly thinking they were elves and could just throw the ball about and dodge as they pleased. This resulted in a loose ball then a bit of a punch up finally ensued, before a goblin ran off with the ball. A Ulfwereners went off for a nap for the rest of the game, as the Scum were able to run it a defensive score.
As the Yhetee had also been fouled into the KO box, the final turns of the 1st half were rather uneventful.
The Norse seemed over eager to turn things around in the 2nd half, which ended up opening a gaint hole in their defensive line. A quick pass and some quick skaven feet took the Scum over for a 2nd. A beautiful kick into the endzone, before a botched GFI from the Norse after the pick up enabled a goblin to grab the ball for an unepected 3rd.
After yet another gangfoul on the Yhette resulted in it going off injuried, this momentarily riled the Norse. They snacked down a goblin, and out of the next game, before they returned to their hapless docile selves.
GG Watchtower.
Cheers.

Underbelly Sneakers (Selfy)2 v 1 The Borelocks (Wilgut Spleens)
Without doubt the most fun I have had this season, three big guys on each side and lots of flingables
The highlight for me was throwing Teeny Borelocks, prime leap Gnoblar, to hit and KO the ball carrier 4 squares from a TD. Teeny was killed by the impact but Apoed to serious injury -1 movement. The pongogob Boingy Borelocks , picked up the ball, failed a GFI and was killed! Two deaths in one play!
Too much happened for a brain such as mine to contain and share, you had to be there!

Valis 4 - 1 Me
Valis bummed me senseless.
Then we played Bloodbowl.
Sadly my team never really turned up and will now be retired, going back to waiting tables, cooking five course specials and wanking into the broth.

Yeah that game was bound to be a draw or more score-able by your little fellows. I honestly didn't expect to keep them from scoring all match and likely would not if you had not confused that Double "!" as a double "PoW"...then making your saurus dodge. The good thing though is that since that mistake is absolutely not luck-based, it will likely never happen to you again

Speaking of draws...that should have been. beefburger 's Fairies with booties 1 vs 2 Twenty-two Tits A very "tactical" match if there can be one in Blood Bowl. The Elves were severely outgunned on paper, but we all know that it's all about the Wardancers once the kick-off is punted. And these guys really pull their weight in gold. While the linemen would serve as punching bags left and right, the trio of 2 Dancers + 1 catcher were effectively able to threaten the amazons at all time...from almost all angles. Still, The amazons made their first offensive drive slowly but forcefully, able to get the ball into the TD zone just a tiny bit early. Being slightly down in numbers and with a slow poke tree, the Elves were not able to tie it up before the 2nd half. The 2nd half saw the elves's speed and agility shine and they kind of easily scored their offensive TD to make this 1-1. Amazons had plenty of time to score, or so they thought. They didn't organize quickly enough and their efforts were very well thwarted by the elves, who had surprising stopping power that late in the game. By the time it was the 16th turn it was still 1-1 with the ball loose at the feet of the Treeman on the line of scrimmage... But let's see what occured. Amazon Thrower dodged from within the treeman's tackle zone: 75% (4+ with skill RR) Amazon thrower picked up the ball: 75% (4+ with the team RR used) Amazon thrower dodged out of treeman's tackle zone: 66% no RR (toward her own endzone and then had to circle around the tree from right to left) Amazon thrower makes a Long Pass: 55% (33% with skill re-roll) Elf lineman failed interception: 66% Amazon Blitzer caught the ball within tackle zone: 50% Amazon Blitzer blitz: 1D block and gets a (!)Defender down (no dodge) while advancing (preventing the need of a 2nd GFI or a dodge): 33% Amazon Blitzer GFI's into end zone: 83% So yeah this was a draw on 98% of games you'd try this play, and a score on roughly 2%...which ain't too crazy as far as BB is concerned, but it's still a once in 50 games play on the 16th turn to literally steal the win.

Caimen Excise Dodgers (nearly) 0 v 2 Ghouls Aloud (Penkoon)
A victory for the ghouls, which should secure a play-off spot (if I've understood the rules...)! Was rather lucky: a cagey first half ended with a Ghouls Aloud touchdown against the run of play; the wizard failed to realize Ricky Mort-in was wearing rubber boots; the star player who was a nuisance all first half got ko'd right at the start of the second half; and various other dice rolls worked out.
Rookie werewolf Keith Full Moon continues to struggle. In only his second game he's now been injured 3 times, including a regen'ed death and a non-regened armour break. I'm thinking he may not be cut out for this game and might have to be replaced.
Cheers for the game nearly! Now we wait and see if you've done enough to make the play-offs yourself!
