It's here! After many weeks of struggles and triumphs, Hunky Spooners near success, nobby enjoying his dildo, and boon not posting anything dodgy after being told off by the forum hosts: the Final match to decide who will lift the Funleague trophy.
Ghouls Aloud v Fairies with Boots
Penkoon's monstrous necromantic team started at the limit of the TV cap, and did a good job of mauling almost everyone they've played. Apart from that is, their Championship opponents, Fairies with Boots.
The regular season saw these two teams play out a 2-2 draw, but Beefy's "weedy" elves smashed the necros all over the astrogranite, causing mayhem and death aplenty. Now with a ST4 WD, the Fairies will aim to combine elf shenanigans with more death and destruction.
May the best team win!

Coach Beefburger speech to his team pre game:- Great moments are born from great opportunity. And that's what you have here tonight, boys. That's what you've earned here, tonight. One game. If we played 'em 10 times, they might win nine. But not this game. Not tonight. Tonight, we run with 'em. Tonight, we stay with 'em, and we shut them down because we can! Tonight, we are the greatest BloodBowl team in the world. You were born to be BloodBowl players players—every one of ya. And you were meant to be here tonight. This is your time. Their time—its done. It's over. I'm sick and tired of hearin' about what a huge TV Ghouls Aloud have. Screw 'em!
This is your time

Coach Beefburger to his team after the match, encouraging them for next season:-
I have, myself, full confidence that if all do their duty, if nothing is neglected, and if the best arrangements are made, as they are being made, we shall prove ourselves once again able to defend our home stadium, to ride out the storm of war, and to outlive the menace of high TV bash, if necessary for years, if necessary alone. At any rate, that is what we are going to try to do. That is the resolve of our coaching staff-every man of them. That is the will of the owner and the fans.
We shall go on to the end, we shall fight on the pitch, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air when we get a thrower, we shall defend our home stadium, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the bleachers, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this team or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our friends beyond the seas, would carry on the struggle, until, in Nuffle's good time, then Lustria, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old.

Ghouls Aloud 3 - 2 Fairies with Boots (after extra time)
Whew. I need a lie down after that.
The opening drive had the Fairies receiving the ball. Despite some initial issues picking the pigskin up, they recovered and rapidly got the ball downfield. The Ghouls scrambled to cover and sacked the ball carrier, but were helpless to prevent the Fairies showing their silky elven skills and scoring the next turn. 1-0 Fairies with Boots.
The return drive from the Ghouls was a bit all over the place, interrupted by vicious fighty elves and fireballs. The ball repeatedly hit the deck, and the Fairies even scooped it up close to their own line. Some fortuitous blocking though allowed the Ghouls to recover and Noel Ghoul-ager run in a lucky TD to close the half. 1-1.
The second half started with a blitz from the elves, catching the necros flat-footed. They did their best to disrupt the Ghoul offence, but enough players were able to scramble back to protect the pigskin. From there, a slightly more controlled drive than the first moved the length of the field. Star ghoul Ricky Mort-in refused to let the elves steal his rock and ran in the score in T16. Necros take the lead for the first time. 2-1 Ghouls Aloud. Only 1 turn left.
It looked like the end, but with no rerolls and barely enough players to set up the required chain-blocks, the Fairies used all their abilities to spectactularly tie the game up and send it to OT. The Ghouls, thinking they'd already won, were left scratching their arses as the elves streaked past them. 2-2.
Ghouls Aloud had some further luck when they won the overtime coin toss. Electing to receive, they smashed their way downfield, Ricky again proving to be a secure carrier against some nasty war dancer attacks. 3-2 Ghouls Aloud.
The Ghouls had been amassing rerolls through the second half and forcing the Fairies to burn theirs, in case it came to a penalty shoot-out but it turned out to be unneccessary. The sudden death TD ended the match.
It was another game where the KO rolls were kind to me. Though I had to go 1 drive without a wolf and another without a wight, enough elves also stayed asleep that the numbers worked heavily in my favour.
Sadly, both str 4 elves and the other war dancer still live. The apothecary did his best to claim the bounty on the str3 dancer, offering to turn a gouged eye into a kill, but Beefburger was having none of it.
Cheers for the game Beefburger. I enjoyed it. Hope you did too! Best of luck for next season.

As the fun league twitter feed suggested, it was a classic battle of Dicksplash v Mingeface. This time Dicksplash came out on top.
