In the unlikely case anybody gives a shit, and since I've seen Boon's created a thread in the official Cyanide forum about Breton(n)ian blitzers/knights and their crappy skill access, here's my experience with the team so far...
Being firmly of the opinion that knights are just not able to pull their weight, I created a roster with only one knight (for carrying the ball, the odd blitz and getting "leader" as a first skill), four yeomen/blockers, a whopping ten peasants, an apo and 2 RRs. That's a mere 980 TV. The peasants are meant to foul relentlessly, of course. After the second match I bought the final, sixteenth player (another peasant, bien évidemment), and managed to give leader to the lone knight. That's a grand total of 1050 TV
It's a team that finds it very easy to at least play for the draw, I've found. Even if you do not manage to stop the opposition during its drive, they'll usually have less players than you in the second half, what with the humongous bench and all the fouling. Given the team's tactics, when you do win in MM it's often going to be through concessions, so I don't expect money to be an issue.
The effect of spamming "fend" on the pitch is interesting. Denying the ability to follow up on blocks turns out to limit your opponent's mobility quite noticeably. I don't think that would be the case with only three to four peasants on the pitch, though. I'd even go as far as to say peasants are perhaps the best (or least bad) of the 40gp "fodder" pieces in the game.
Also, your first yeoman to get a skill should absolutely be built up to become a killer.
To sum up, Breton(n)ia is a fun little team if you're willing to be a bit of a cunt.
In the Cyanide thread, the "everything's absolutely fine with the game" crowd have been trying to come up with reasons why knights aren't an absolutely sorry excuse for a pricey positional. I don't know, trying to put lipstick on a pig may be an interesting exercise...after all, we've heard of people having fun with pigs lately.
