Personally, it's all the bullshit reasons that are getting to me; it's the spirit of the game, it's the new ruleset etc, and also the restructuring of the league, that I also feel is a bad idea, and make the matter worse. Focus on this point here, and not all the other stuff, and I am more sympathetic to your point. My other point still remains, though: we can fire all the support players, and keep the "good" ones, and of course we will. Do you expect me to fire the dwarfs and keep the hobgobs? Why do chaos dwarfs play blood bowl? To spread the love? And how do they win games? By hugging trees? They do it by chopping trees! And further, on the topic of my team: 4 of my dwarfs only have two skills, 1 have three, and 1 have four. They're not insanely developed. I have lost 6 dwarfs along the way, and I am constantly rebuilding one and they're not that easy to build. Furthermore, the bashing teams mostly gear up to tackle the other bashing teams after a while - it's them that they fear, cause bashing teams have no means of getting away - they are stuck in the fight, and as we all now, it just takes one bad fight.. Actually, it's not all about you! Might come as surprise I know. When you use inflammatory terms like "bullshit reasons" you are ignoring the whole gist of the debate and directing the discussion into a polarised slanging match. This is the influence of social media. BB2 is broke. This has been recognised by the creators and the 2020 rules are another attempt to fix it. Alan was trying to find a way that would tread some middle ground and be kind to the teams that are effected most by the changes. All these toys on the floor have got to go back in the prams. Alan puts a lot of work into this league, always has done, with no help and when he tries to make things better, you start shouting bullshit! If BB3 had been released on time we would already be playing these rules . Change is coming whether you like it or not, if you decide it's not for you , well there are other leagues. They ain't Funleague tho. I knew there would come a reaction to me using that term. The frustration level was rising, not only for me, I think, but I apologize for unnecessary language there. I do however think that there were others than just Nobby that's not listening to what is being said.. I still think you can't just cherrypick a rule from a coming ruleset and implement in a whole other ruleset, not that that is of any relevance here at all, since the rule in question is not a part of any ruleset. That the goal is to level the playing field and try to prevent total annihilation is on the other hand something I can understand, and can to a certain level agree that something should be done. I don't necessarily think that putting a TV-cap is the way to go, however. Personally, I think something along the line of what Charlotte suggested in the forums on facebook yesterday is better, with separation between the experienced and inexperienced teams. I think you should make divisions of 4 to 6 teams that you should play yourself up and down from, as I have said. Combine that with the ability to have more than one team in the system (so incorporate the Selfy cup into the league structure), just keep them from having more teams in one division, obviously. That way there will be more matches on the way up through the system without you having to face the highest TV teams, so that should help. If neceessary, make a veterans league and a rookie team system, so that you have a +1800 champion and a -1800 champion, as Bunji suggested. Other that that, if a TV-cap is what people think is needed, so be it. But just to add; I do think this in a large part is about me and my team. The first two matches, I was being stood up, the first one forgetting me twice, then the second flat out refused to play, and then we get this. And as such, explaining that a TV cap won't help much in regard to reducing the killer ability of the team, is relevant information, I think. Lastly, I appreciate the work Alan is putting down, and I normally appreciate the climate here, but I should also be allowed to say my opinion about the matter, and preferrably before the decision apparantly has been made. And I would also say that I don't appreciate being stood up on what I expect is fear for the team grounds. I too am here to play games, and set aside a night to play and arrange for it with the wife and kids etc too. As I said in a match thread, I came once every season to get my arse kicked by those bloody orcs of Chazer, back in the day and also those lethal Crimson rats, now that I think about it, and I lost players, and that was frustrating, but it is Blood bowl.

I don't think it's you Haugster. Who was it that refused to play? That's an absolute travesty, whoever did that. Now, I personally would like to see a TV cap and redrafting, but..... and this is a big but, I would never refuse to play someone in Funleague because their team was too high TV and bashy and riddled with guard, mb, claw. That's a dick move if ever I saw one. Everybody has torn one of my teams apart at one time or another, but still you play your game and come back again next week to play again. Whoever refused to play is disrespectful to you Haugster and I will have no truck with that! Regards Selfy

To add to my suggestion the 1800+ champs and an 1800- champs could play each other in a resurrection comp for the Golden Nipples trophy. Resurrection playoffs would go a way to ensuring that teams don't die in a mismatched meat grinder affair and would also encourage exciting cavalier crazy plays which could be more in keeping with the "Fun" part of funleague. I hope a mutual agreement is reached by everyone. For now though if we just play next season under the new guidelines and see how it goes. Knee jerk reactions and shouting at each other is achieving nothing but division in the ranks and it'd be nice for everyone to get on. The best part of bloodbowl for me is the community. It's a sad affair when such a lovely bunch of degenerates turns on each other. Much love x

I'd have played!
I'm not gonna lie - i'm pissed with the matchmaking*, and i stand by what i said re: enjoyment levels but i'd have played, i'd just had a busy week with going away and folks1 birthdays etc. I'll play this weekend if it can be arranged.
Had it not been your daughters b day we could've got an extension played on Friday.
With regards to OPs statement i can see both sides, but as a league we need to realise that we're tiny, we don't have the ecosystem a larger league has where all teams are curbed by claw POMB.
Valis has been too accommodating imo, we should have a total reset to 1000TV, but hes tried to incorporate the new rules and not fuck any one off who has a high TV team.
The BB2020 rules are dogshite in my opinion, albeit i've only read them but the re draft is the best part of it.
BB is great at 1000TV and is ok up to 1600-1800 odd but once youre higher its just bollocks.
*the reason i re rolled was cos last season i played Jak, you then Og last three games, all 2000+ tv bash and i felt i wanted something a little tougher, but at least i had a good woodie team... to have the same three for the first three games this season with an undeveloped team is a massive kick in the balls and makes bothering seem not worth it.
1 First my mams 79th them the misssus 50th.

wehhh heeeeyyy this thread looks fun. My view lets all play as the same team, use the weird post season marketing thing and see who is really the most adaptable.
Make it even more fun by making the team selection random !
Mind you i wouldnt take my advice i have a leaping, throwing, catching Nurgle team with a warrior wit tentacles and i would play as an ogre team of only snotlings in an attempt to get a snotling to max SPP if i could.

There's an easy way to let people have high TV teams without the teams being too powerful for new teams. It's called forcing everyone to play the Heralds way. Noone leaves the team without dying! This results in a team consisting of mostly massively overvalued cripples who will give away massive amounts of cash in inducements without actually being much more powerful than a new team. Anyone who's ever played any incarnation of the Heralds know that fixture was an almost guaranteed W in the results for them no matter if it was BB1 Heralds, BB2 before the restart Heralds or current Heralds.
See? I always have the most elegant, brilliant solutions. All you have to remember is that Thricedarned is always right.
What?
It's brilliant I tell you! Sure, it means winning fuck-all, but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to have you all make.

I lost so many players, and could never get over 7 players in the team. Then I thought, OK, perhaps I am better suited to deal the pain than to take it..

Ok Post was TLDR all of it, but here's my 2 cents worth of a ref bribe. How about teams over 1800 are elevated to the 'Elite-No holds Barred-ulimate League' where they dont play against rookie teams. Or even make the bar 1500TV. Kind of like the Pro-Bowl I NFL.
I know this would make 3 leagues avaliable. But it's basically new 》developing 》elite. Possibly a grand finale with the middle (main) league facing off against the top elite team. Just an idea for the middle ground

unsure. lets see... SAC has various numbers, as is its reason. fun for trying out new teams. OHC has 16(?) players. these actual names can vary season to season. i believe this is where the issue lies, with a handful of teams. if all these teams (im saying 4 just for numbers sakes), do not play a team in OHC, i think we can JUST take up these numbers. ELITE FAT BASTADS (no insult intended i have saw austin powers lately) if we have 4 eligible teams to begin with, and they wish to play, there is the option of a small MM league or contest. this number will eventually gain.
do people agree with these numbers? not speaking about my views
